Yoga4Cats Events
Yoga4Cats offers yoga classes with cats to benefit our rescue efforts as well as to offer socialization and promotion opportunities for our adoptable cats and kittens.
For events with kids, we tend to opt for well-socialized kittens that are more tolerant and adaptable to new people and experiences. Additionally, yoga events are always dependent on healthy, available, and well socialized kitties. The rescue world is very dynamic and things change quickly. We ask that you keep this in mind and we will inform you of any changes on our end that would cause us to cancel or reschedule the event.
Kid-friendly events tend to be an hour in duration with a 30 minute practice and 30 minutes for kitty socializing. You can customize the event with other activities such as bringing cupcakes/treats etc or a short game. Most people tend to do yoga & kitty playtime.
A few things to consider about these events:
Yoga4Cats expects that parents align on expectations with participants prior to the event. A yoga practice is intended to be a calm and quiet environment which is why it is an ideal venue for cats. Kids are encouraged to interact with the kitties while giving the cats a choice in the matter. Everyone should be prepared to keep calm and remain mostly quiet during the event. The cats will return the favor by engaging more with our participants to ensure everyone has a positive experience.
Yoga4Cats charges $120/hr for private events. We're able to keep these event costs very accessible by offsetting other expenses through additional donations brought to the events. We encourage participants to each bring something from our wish lists posted on both Amazon and Chewy. Most of these items are also available through local vendors. The kitties appreciate any and all supplies! Specified dry food and litter are our biggest priority!
Space is limited to 8 participants for yoga. 1-2 parents/guardians are encouraged to stay for the event but please know that we do not have space for additional people. Guests are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats. Yoga4Cats does have mats available to borrow. Please let us know if you need to borrow some mats and we will verify quantities in advance.
Once the event booking time/date is confirmed, we will send a draft event agreement/waiver which will need to be completed in advance or upon arrival to the event.
Payment is due at time of the event. We accept cash, card, or check.
Events are led by a certified yoga instructor. Yoga4Cats is operated entirely by volunteers and all proceeds support our programs to provide Zen for Rescue Pets.
