Applications currently closed! Program status is kept up to date here. Please check back again soon. If you submitted an app before 9/21/2024, we have it in our queue. Please be patient as we work through our meowntain of apps!

Emmy’s Cause is intended for cat owners with barriers to vet care. Please keep in mind this is not a free program. Approved applicants are required to contribute a $50 copay for services which includes spay or neuter, rabies and FVRCP vaccinations, as well as any indicated parasite treatment. An optional microchip with free registration may be added for an additional $10.  Yoga4Cats partners with Cats Only in Decatur, IL for these services. We will provide additional information as appropriate based on application outcome.

Pet owners are responsible for the required registration fees with the Macon County / City of Decatur which needs to be paid by cash or check at the clinic when you pick up your pet. This is $15 per year and is payable in conjunction with your annual Rabies Vaccination (required by law).

Your appointment will be confirmed with an approved application and paid copay.

The application will also ask if you have a specified timing request for your appointment. Invoices are sent via electronically via email and must be paid via card. If you have special circumstances and need to split your payments into two installments or need to pay via cash or check, please note this on your application and we will try to accommodate.

Budgetary estimate: Your minimum expenses (for a single cat) would be $65 (copay + registration) or up to $75 if you add a microchip.

The story of Emmy’s Cause

In 2017,  Yoga4Cats rescued Emmy as a tiny potcake puppy living under a beach shack on Grand Turk, TCI. Emmy was quickly adopted and now lives a very spoiled life in northern Michigan. She knows first hand about how important access to spay/neuter is. Where Emmy comes from, there are no permanent vets and cats & dogs rely on pop-up clinics to receive care. Emmy wants to help - both locally in deCATur - and on island.

In 2024, Emmy's Cause was launched to help provide accessible core veterinary care for cats with owners experiencing barriers to these services. We are very grateful to Emmy for her generosity and kindness to other pets in need.
